A typical SEC Reporting Professional is responsible in the preparation of the companys external financial statements, including the implementation of new SEC filing requirements and accounting standards. They will collaborate with the global finance team, business units, legal department and investor relations functions to continually improve the companys external reporting process. They perform research in technical accounting and financial reporting matters and stay current with changes in relevant technical guidance. They assist with writing, implementing and maintaining corporate accounting policies and procedures. Coordinate with global finance organization to ensure consistent and accurate implementation of accounting policies, particularly for complex US GAAP matters. They coordinate and facilitate the work of external auditors; Ensure SOX 404 compliance over the financial closing and reporting processes; and support corporate or finance led initiatives, as required.
